Hi. I'm Bill Foote, and this is the blog for my Peace Corps service in Burkina Faso. I'm scheduled to be there from June 2017 through August 2019, with the possibility of extending for a year after that.

Burkina Faso is a landlocked country in West Africa. The capital is Ouagadougou. It's north of Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, Togo and Benin, west of Niger, and south of Mali:

I promise not to post too much – no more than once a week, and it'll probably be more like once a month, on average. To generate this website, I'm using some sofware I wrote called “Corpsblog.” Partly, I did this because I can, and I enjoy writing sofware. Another reason is that I was able to set things up so I can get the blog all ready for publication with no internet connection, and then when I'm in an internet cafe, type one command and have everything updated all at once. I figure I won't have a steady internet connection in Burkina Faso. The generated website is just a bunch of files (a “static site”) that I host on Github, along with my other websites.
